Countdown begins

The countdown has begun: in one week I will be on a flight to South Africa, then on to Namibia. It feels a bit odd since so much of my concentration is currently on Christmas, but I am trying to fight through it and start the packing process (which has been disrupted a little by potential weight-limit drama when it comes to the flight to Namibia). It's been a rough two weeks, spending every single day reading and watching the West Wing or the Wire with my family. I guess we all have to make sacrifices sometimes in the name of a greater good. My next post will be from another hemisphere, hopefully with some lovely pictures of that giant line called the equator as I pass over it. I'm pretty sure you can see it from space.
